Spring Events In New Orleans
Spring is here in New Orleans. We’ve had a handful of cool, chilly days, but mostly it’s been sunny skies and warm temperatures. Spring is the perfect time to experience New Orleans, especially when you factor in some of the festivals coming up in the next couple of months.
French Quarter Festival
April 11-14th, the French Quarter Festival takes over the Vieuex Carre. This festival features 1,400 musicians performing on twenty stages throughout the Quarter and the best part is that it’s all free. Plus, there will be more than 65 restaurants to feed fest goers, things for the kids to do, fireworks and much more. A couple of this year’s headliners are Kermit Ruffins, as well as the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
The Fest is just over a month away, but we still have a handful of rooms left if you’re interested in seeing this celebration that is a favorite with locals, as well as guests from out of town.
New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival
Clear your calendars, the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May is Jazz Fest. This event is seven days of music, crafts, food and culture that you don’t want to miss. I’m not just saying that either, my tickets arrived in the mail yesterday. This year’s lineup includes a number of local legends like Dr. John and the Rebirth Brass Band, as well has internationally famous act like Billy Joel and the Dave Matthews Band.
We do have rooms open both weekends, but I can’t promise that they’ll stay unreserved for long. Jazz Fest is one of the most popular events every year in New Orleans.
